Report: Ethics Lawyers Violated State Policies With Outside Practice
Two staff lawyers who set up their own law firm while working for the State Ethics Commission of Georgia violated state policies regarding outside employment and appeared in court when they were supposed to be on the job at the commission, state Inspector General Elizabeth Archer reported Thursday. Attorneys Thomas Plank Jr. and Yasha Heidari also used state computers and state-paid research services for their private cases and appear to have improperly used sick leave to attend to those cases, according to the report.
