Judge Cuts Graubard Fee, Orders Partners to Return Gifts
A judge has cut to less than $16 million a $44 million contingency fee sought by Graubard Miller for work on behalf of a real estate magnate’s widow, finding that, in retrospect, the firm’s contract was unconscionable. The judge also ordered three Graubard partners to return more than $5 million in gifts from the widow.
