A former New York partner at Winston & Strawn, Jonathan S. Bristol, pleaded not guilty yesterday to charges of laundering more than $20 million through his escrow accounts in connection with an alleged multi-million dollar fraud run by Kenneth Starr, a financial advisor to celebrities.

Jonathan Dickstein, a former Morrison & Foerster partner, pleaded not guilty in San Francisco Superior Court Thursday to allegations he and his wife bilked $400,000 from the San Francisco Unified School District and insurers. At the arraignment, Dickstein held hands with his wife, Barclay Lynn, who also entered a not guilty plea. Last month, the couple was arrested and charged by the San Francisco DA’s office with 31 felony counts, including grand theft, forgery, insurance fraud and conspiracy.

Debra Villegas, the former chief operating officer at Scott Rothstein’s law firm, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to money-laundering conspiracy in his $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme and was granted $250,000 bond. Villegas, Rothstein’s longtime assistant, surrendered to federal marshals Wednesday, after which she appeared handcuffed in court.
