When can an employee be fired for Facebook comments that refer to his or her employer?

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has released a draft strategic plan for the next four years, vowing to continue its focus on cases where there is “a pattern, practice or policy of alleged discrimination and/or class cases where the alleged discrimination has a broad impact.”

The legal sector continued to make modest gains on the employment front in November, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report released Friday. The uptick came amid a positive shift in the broader economy, as the unemployment rate dropped to 8.6 percent, its lowest mark in 2 1/2 years.
